Future

We are currently working towards a consultation on midwifery care in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. More information is available here.

In 2018 we undertook the Future Fit consultation into the future of our two local acute hospitals. Both hospitals are run by the Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospital Trust.

In 2019, the Joint Committee of Shropshire CCG and Telford & Wrekin CCG made a decision to proceed. This means that Royal Shrewsbury Hospital will become an Emergency Care site and the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford will provide planned care services. Both hospitals will have an Urgent Care Centre that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
