Vision and principles for people living with a learning disability and autistic people
The health care system in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin has developed a vision and set of principles to enhance learning disability and autism care for local people living with a learning disability and autistic people living with or without a learning disability across all ages.
The new vision and principles, launched during Learning Disability Week, 14 – 20 June 2021, were developed using feedback from recent strategy work and information gathered directly from people with lived experience, families, carers and professionals. The aim is to ensure people who have a learning disability and autistic people with or without a learning disability have the choice and control to be independent, healthy and safe as well as the same opportunities and outcomes in life as others.
