Patsy Clifton - STW Training Hub Advanced Practice Lead

Patsy trained as a registered nurse in Birmingham back in 2003, then worked in A+E/MAU and ITU. Patsy made the jump to primary care initially in Sexual Health and then to General Practice, whilst doing her post graduate Advanced Practice training in 2013. Patsy is currently completing a further MSc in Leadership for Healthcare Professionals, alongside working at a Telford practice as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. 

Within the practice, Patsy assesses, diagnoses and prescribes patients for a variety of conditions, but her specialist interests are Minor Ops and sexual health/contraception as well as being the clinical team lead. 

Patsy is also the Advanced Practice Lead Facilitator for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICS and works within The Training Hub to support Advanced Practitioners and further the Advanced Practice agenda, with regular forum meetings, training and development programme planning alongside peer support and role development .  

Outside of work, Patsy spends her time keeping up with her son, puppy and husband on glacier walks and the like, and exploring in their old camper van !
