6th July - What is the meaning of Place?
For our second leadership event we discussed the meaning of Place. We had a discussion about the principles of place-based working and what functions in the future could sit at Place, Places and System. It was clear there was a shared consensus about the ‘Primacy’ of Place.
While the system has responsibility for providing oversight to ensure that learning and resources are appropriately shared, we believe most of the practical steps to reducing inequalities and population health management are best delivered at a place and neighbourhood level. Our intention is to further strengthen our place-based working as we see this as an integral component of our ICS.
