Phil has been leading on workforce issues for the CCG for just over four years. Before this he briefly worked for NHSE which, in turn, followed a long career in local government.
Phil manages a range of projects and initiatives across a range of workforce and training issues for the 51 GP Practices and the 8 PCNs in the STW area. Working closely with other colleagues in the Training Hub Phil is responsible for ensuring that the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme operates smoothly, including management of the budget. Most of Phil’s work involves working with practices on GP recruitment and retention initiatives, including working closely with the STW GP training scheme to try to ensure that newly-qualified GPs stay in the area.
